Differences Between 2019 Nissan Altima & 2019 Toyota Camry
Serving Serving Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, and Fairfield, OH
Competing against each other in the mid-size class, the 2019 Nissan Altima and 2019 Toyota Camry are premium sedans with sporty designs. The VC-Turbo engine and Intelligent AWD surely make the Altima a better performer on the road. Both cars offer 8.0-inch infotainment systems with smartphone connectivity.
Performance
Engineered to produce up to 248 horsepower, the 2019 Altima's 2.0 L engine block has the VC-Turbo label. Instead of maintaining a fixed compression ratio, this compact turbocharged engine produces an optimum compression ratio in response to your input. This dynamic powertrain cranks out 273 pound-feet of torque. You'll also get up to 34 MPG on the highway from the VC-Turbo engine. Rated at 203 hp, the 2019 Toyota Camry's 2.5 L engine carries the Dynamic Force label. If you want approximately 100 additional hp, select the traditional 3.5 L V6 engine. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive surely elevates the 2019 Altima to much higher performance status than the Camry, which is driven by front-wheel drive. Nissan's Xtronic CVT also offers more gear options than the Toyota's Direct Shift automatic transmission. However, three custom drive modes are available in the Camry's cockpit. With some assistance from the Intelligent Trace Control, you'll steer the Altima with more confidence.
Interior
New virtual concierges are at your service in the 2019 Nissan Altima. Compatible with the latest smartphones and tablets, Amazon Alexa is synced with the NissanConnect software. If you're an Android user, Google Assistant is also ready to accept your voice prompts. You can tell this digital assistant to remotely unlock the car's doors or flash the hazard lights. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant could also start and stop the vehicle's engine. If you need custom directions to your destination, just access the Nissan Door to Door Navigation application. The car's 8.0-inch navigation system displays 3-D views of buildings and landmarks. The 2019 Toyota Camry's Entune 3.0 multimedia system is also available with a touch screen that measures 8.0 inches diagonally. Remote services, WiFi and navigation are some of the top features in this signature console. Optional in some Camry trims, the JBL audio system includes nine speakers. Working in sync with the Active Noise Cancellation technology, the Altima's Bose audio system also has nine speakers.
Safety
The 2019 Altima Edition ONE and Platinum VC-Turbo boast the latest ProPILOT ASSIST technology that dramatically improves your defensive driving attributes. You just need to push a button to activate this active safety suite. The Rear Automatic Braking and Rear Sonar System lower your risk of colliding with other vehicles while backing up. These features offer better guidance than the 2019 Toyota Camry's Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking. Otherwise, the Nissan Intelligent Mobility is similar to the Toyota Safety Sense P technology. For example, both packages include advanced cruise control, front automatic braking and alert systems for lane movements.
