For the first time in the Nissan Altima's history, a turbocharged engine with the Variable Compression technology is available in the 2019 model. Displacing 2.0 L, the highly responsive Turbo VC engine block whips out up to 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet. Despite its aggressive design, the all-new powertrain is versatile enough to run on regular unleaded gasoline. Capable of producing 188 hp and 182 lb-ft, the 2.5 L Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) engine has impressive ratings for a naturally aspirated powertrain. Previously available only in Nissan's SUVs, the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is installed in some of the 2019 Altima models. When it comes to the car's gearbox, Nissan hasn't made any dramatic changes because the Xtronic CVT already has a sporty design. The Manual Shift Mode is integrated into this patented transmission.

Interior and Features

The 2019 Altima's cockpit is equipped with some of Nissan's latest digital technology, including a freestanding 8.0-inch touch screen with several knobs and hard buttons. Most of the applications, including GPS navigation, are powered by the NissanConnect software. This premium sedan is now available with 3-D graphics on the colored maps.
