Differences Between 2018 Nissan Rogue & 2018 Nissan Murano
Serving Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, and Fairfield, OH
Small crossovers are increasingly popular, and this is because many car shoppers want something that's fuel-efficient, can be parked in tight spaces, and yet offers lots of cargo space and utility features. Others may desire something a bit bigger, perhaps because the family includes several rambunctious preteens. Either way, Nissan has the bases covered. The smartly designed and affordable 2018 Rogue is a bestseller thanks to its spacious interior and functional design, and the mid-size Murano is one of the most well-rounded crossovers on the market.
Before deciding which is the better buy, it's highly recommended that both models be taken for a test drive. The powertrains are different, the handling is different, and the list of standard features varies considerably. Whichever model is chosen, however, the buyer has made a wise investment. Below, a more detailed comparison between the 2018 Nissan Rogue and Murano models is offered.
Interior And Passenger Comfort
The 2018 Rogue may be a bit on the small side, but that's great news if the supermarket or movie theater has those thin parking spaces. Inside, however, the space opens up just like The Doctor's Tardis. Front seat comfort is at the top of the pyramid, and the rear seats, while a bit cramped in terms of legroom, can easily accommodate two teens or small adults. The interior materials are top-quality, and with the rear seat folded flat, 70 cubic feet of cargo space is available, more than what is found inside nearly every other competing model in this segment. The 2018 Nissan Murano has a sleek outer appearance and a rather flat roofline, but this doesn't mean compromising on comfort for the driver and passengers. The materials are on the same level as what is found in such luxury models as those from Infiniti. The Murano boasts more lateral movement area for the feet of rear-seat passengers than just about any other mid-size crossover.
Safety Systems
Nissan has really stepped up its game when it comes to standard and optional safety and security systems on the 2018 models. The Rogue base trim comes with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision warning with automatic braking. If the SL trim is chosen, additional safety systems come standard. These include a surround-view camera and the NissanConnect emergency services. The SL also comes with adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning. The 2018 Nissan Murano boasts forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking across the trim lineup, and the mid-level SV trim comes with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The SV can also be ordered with the Premium package. This adds on adaptive cruise control, drowsy driver alert, and a 360-degree view parking camera.
Affordability
Buyers won't pay luxury model prices to own a 2018 Nissan Rogue or Murano. The Rogue beats out competitors from Chevrolet and Ford, and the Murano costs less than most other five-passenger crossovers. Most other models in the subcompact and compact class offer less passenger and cargo volume than the Rogue, so it's hard to justify the higher price on these competing models. The 2018 Nissan Murano comes with a very nice warranty, boasts excellent safety scores, and comes adorned with upscale interior materials and trimming for a price that's significantly lower than what buyers will pay for the highly advertised luxury imports.
If you need a roomy transport and like the idea of a crossover design, check out both the 2018 Nissan Rogue and Murano. If size matters, whether large or small, a test drive of both models will convince you that one of these two will fit your needs.
