Performance

The 2018 Nissan Rogue uses a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, which generates 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Joined to the engine is a continuously variable transmission, which eschews gear shifting for a smoother and more fuel-efficient drive. Couple that with a front-wheel drivetrain, and the Rogue produces a fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

Interior and Features

Designed as a compact crossover SUV with two rows of seats for up to five people, the 2018 Nissan Rogue starts off with comfort and convenience features such as remote keyless access, Bluetooth® wireless technology for hands-free phone operation and audio streaming, Advanced Drive-Assist Display® to reduce distraction when driving, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ for smartphone integration, the Siri® Eyes Free virtual assistant, hands-free text messaging ability, a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM® satellite radio, four-speaker audio, AM/FM radio, a single-disc CD player with WMA/MP3 playback ability, and a 7-inch color monitor. Upper-level trims are more likely to get additions and enhancements such as leather upholstery, steering-wheel and front-seat heating, 8-way power adjustability and 2-way power lumbar support on the driver’s seat, an integrated memory system, voice recognition, navigation system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a smart key system with push-button engine start (an upgrade of the remote keyless system), remote engine start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a garage-door opener, six-speaker audio or a nine-speaker Bose® system (in place of the four-speaker system), and NissanConnect® infotainment integration.

Safety

For safety, the 2018 Nissan Rogue comes with six airbags, knee bolsters, hill start assist, electronic stability and traction control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, intelligent trace control and engine braking, LED daytime running lights, active ride control, a rearview camera, and a theft-deterrent system. Now standard across all trims are automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Upper-level trims are still more likely to have intelligent lane intervention, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera in place of the rearview one.
